Kathy Ursinus lives in Fuerteventura and has been successfully selling design templates for Instagram since January 2020. We asked Kathy how she built her online business with elopage step by step, what challenges she faced at the beginning and what she plans to do next. Plus, she'll share her top 5 tips for digital entrepreneurs!
Beach, palm trees, sea... If you follow Kathy on Instagram, you'll quickly notice that she's living her dream. But that wasn't always the case. Before Kathy ventured into self-employment, she worked in Germany for several years as a management consultant and investment banker. There, however, she always had the feeling that she had not arrived.
"Especially when creating the online course, I also had a lot of ideas and details that I wanted to implement, such as the integration of the templates or a nice customer area."

With elopage as an all-in-one platform, she was able to directly clarify all essential requirements such as payment processing, product creation or customer access. Furthermore, the page builder gave her the opportunity to design the first online course exactly according to her design ideas, with little time investment and without having to have any technical knowledge.
Sales doubled in one week
Kathy's knowledge of Instagram marketing is in high demand. But there are only 24 hours in the day. In addition to the 1:1 coaching, Kathy created another source of income with the sale of her online course via elopage, which was not linked to her working hours.
The online course DESIGN-KITs generated as much revenue in one week as Kathy's coaching sessions generated in the whole year!
And it doesn't stop there. Next, she plans to cover other channels outside of Instagram as well, because "after all, beautiful design is important everywhere, for example when creating online courses with elopage."
Kathy's Top 5 Tips for Starting Your Digital Business
We asked Kathy for advice for digital entrepreneurs. These are her top 5 tips:
Tip #1
Even though everyone always says you have to build a big community before you can sell, I see it a little differently. Yes, a community is important, but in my experience, online products amplify the community, so don't wait too long to do so.
Tip #2
Listen to your community. Ask what your followers want and how you can help them. Then develop your products accordingly.
Tip #3
Stay true to yourself. Your community notices when you pretend and act against your beliefs for marketing etc. Find partners like elopage who allow you to create and sell your products the way you want.
Tip #4
Take regular time off. Hard work is good and important, but breaks are just as important. Successful online products make this much easier for you, because they bring in money even when you're not working.
Tip #5
If you plan something or have an idea: Just do it, it could be good.
