Winter is one of the four seasons. In winter, the days are short and the sun's rays fall only obliquely on the earth. That's why it's cold in winter, often temperatures even drop below zero degrees Celsius.

Für die Menschen, die nicht in den Tropen leben, ist der Winter die Jahreszeit, für die man gut vorgesorgt haben muss, damit man etwas zu essen und es warm hat. Heutzutage empfinden die meisten Menschen den Winter aber nicht mehr so schlimm wie früher. Manche mögen ihn sogar, weil sie dann Wintersport treiben oder einen Schneemann bauen können.
