Drug discovery and development
The development of new medicinal products is a long, complex, and costly process

On average, pharmaceutical companies engage in more than 10 years of research from the first small-scale laboratory tests to finding a promising drug candidate until a finished drug is approved. The vast majority of interesting molecules tested in early laboratory trials do not make it to the approval stage. They do not pass the tests at the various stages of drug development.

The work of the regulatory affairs department does not start with marketing authorisation. The department is involved as early as the development of a drug. Drug development is divided into different phases.
